James Canon, Treasurer

I was elected to serve on the executive board as Treasurer in April 2020. As treasurer, I am responsible for financial statements, budget forecasting, bank reconciliation, internal controls, and compliance. I'm currently majoring in Risk Management & Insurance, after graduation I’m planning on pursuing an MBA focused on data analytics, the CPCU & ARM. I believe GIS does a great job of connecting students with information about the industry as well as with professionals in the industry. Outside of school, my hobbies include watching sports, watching movies, reading, investing, trying new foods, and listening to KPOP.

Van Dang, Secretary

As a Mathematics major with a minor in Actuary Science, I am overwhelmed to be not only a part of GIS, but as a secretary of the officer team. I have high expectations and vision for our GIS chapter; thus, it is my honor to assist our Chapter to reach our joint goals, as well as devoting myself to each member’s journey in succeeding their dreams. I believe we all can achieve anything as long as we set our minds to it. I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish together!"
